作者簡(jiǎn)介:Pippa Goodhart Granddad fought in the First World War. He rode a mule into battle in desert in Mesopotamia (which we now call Iraq), and was wounded with a bit of shrapnel that went into his chest and out of his back. He had the scars for the rest of his life. If that bit of shrapnel hadn't slipped just between his lungs and his heart, he would have died, and Pippa, and many of her relatives, would never have existed.
